Het maken van meubels doe ik al vanaf mijn veertiende. Ooit begon het als eenvoudige tuindecoraties van boomtakken en dergelijke, later kwamen er ook meer gecompliceerde meubels zoals kasten en stoelen. Ik werk voornamelijk met vuren- en grenenhout. Dit vanwege de lage prijs, uitstekende beschikbaarheid vanuit duurzame bossen, het laat zich makkelijk bewerken en het allerbelangrijkste; ik vind het een erg mooie houtsoort. Ook is het veelvuldig gratis te verkrijgen bij bedrijven als afgedankt verpakkingshout, wat het duurzaamheidsaspect alleen nog maar doet toenemen.

I began with simple garden decorations made of tree branches and that sort of thing and later began to move into more complicated pieces like cupboards and chairs. I work primarily with spruce and pine. I do this because of the low price and easy availability from sustainable forests. I also find those woods easy to work with and, most importantly, I think they are very beautiful.
